A practical, curious life

Leadership & foundation

With an M.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut, Ismail combines systems thinking with hands-on delivery. He leads Nawatt and AlKamal International, overseeing technology ventures and major hospitality construction programs across Saudi Arabia.

Platforms, products & ventures

At Nawatt, he built Masteri - an enterprise fixed-asset management platform using RFID for tracking, maintenance and financial operations, used by major real-estate organizations across the region. With Iotviation, as Vice President and CoFounder, he led cloud, mobile and embedded systems development for aviation security. He also invests in and advises ventures including Wahed and Dropby.

Teaching & executive education

Ismail mentors professionals through MIT Professional Education programs in digital platforms, Industry 4.0, technology forecasting, critical thinking and decision making as well as product leadership. He has also taught software development with Udacity and mentors students across embedded systems, cloud computing, web development, image processing and practical technology strategy.

Research, learning & perspective

His work is grounded in published research across multicore DSP systems, video coding, embedded design and computer literacy. An MIT Advanced Study Fellow and lifelong learner, he brings technical depth to questions of AI adoption, product strategy, enterprise architecture and how organizations make better decisions.
